Upload a waste collection record
Waste generated in operations and sent off-site for treatment is Scope 3, Category 5. Each record is linked to a facility, so make sure the facility exists first (see "Setting up your facilities in Dcycle").
Before you start
You need an Editor role in your Dcycle organization.
Steps
Step 1
Click “Data” in the left navigation.

Step 2
Click “Categories”.

Step 3
Open the “Facilities” category.

Step 4
Open the facility where the waste was generated.

Step 5
Click the “Wastes” tab.

Step 6
Click “Add data” to open the upload options.

Step 7
You can add a collection manually, upload the waste manager’s PDF invoice or manifest (Dcycle’s AI reads the waste type, quantity and period), or bulk-upload a CSV/Excel template for many records at once.

Step 8
Choose “Upload PDF”.

Step 9
Drag your waste manager’s PDF onto the panel or click to browse.

Step 10
The file goes to a processing queue while Dcycle’s AI reads the waste type, quantity and collection period. Once it’s done, assign it to the right facility category and it’s added to your Wastes records.

Step 11
If your waste manager’s document includes an RD Code (R1–R13 for recovery, D1–D15 for disposal under the EU Waste Framework Directive), add it too — it’s optional, but it makes your footprint more precise, since the default factors otherwise assume worst-case disposal.
Step 12
For many collections at once, use the bulk upload option instead — download the CSV/Excel template, fill one row per collection (facility, waste type, quantity, unit, start/end date, supplier), and drag it back.
