Configure a fiscal year other than calendar year

If your organization's fiscal year doesn't match the calendar year (for example, April to March), set it up once at the project level so that monthly breakdowns and reports align with how your finance team reports.

Before you start

You need the Admin role in your Dcycle organization.

Steps

Step 1

The fiscal year is configured per project, not at the organization level. This lets you have a CSRD project on the calendar year alongside an internal finance report on your custom fiscal year.

Step 2

From the home page, open the project you want to configure. Inside the project, go to “Settings” (gear icon) and find the “Reporting period” section.

Step 3

Choose “Custom fiscal year” and set the start month (for example, April for an April-March fiscal year). Save. From that point on, every chart, breakdown and export in this project uses your fiscal year instead of the calendar year — “monthly” means “monthly within your fiscal year”.

Step 4

Existing records with dates that cross the fiscal year boundary are prorated automatically — Dcycle distributes their emissions across the months they cover. There’s no need to re-upload anything.
