EcoVadis pricing and medals

How EcoVadis tiers your score into medals (Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum) and what the four subscription plans actually include.

EcoVadis converts your assessment score (0–100) into a public medal. Buyers care about the medal — many use it as a procurement filter — so understanding the cutoffs matters.

The medal tiers

Medals are relative percentiles, recalibrated each year against the assessed population. A Bronze in 2024 may need a higher absolute score in 2026 to maintain it.

MedalApprox. cutoffWhat it means
PlatinumTop 1%Elite — typically 78+ overall score
GoldTop 5%Mature systems across all 4 themes — 70+
SilverTop 15%Above-average; often the minimum threshold for tier-1 buyers — 60+
BronzeTop 35%Foundational ESG policies in place — 50+
No medalBelow top 35%Score under 50

The score is calculated across the four assessment themes — Environment, Labor & Human Rights, Ethics, Sustainable Procurement — and benchmarked against companies of similar size, industry and geography.

What buyers expect

In procurement contexts, common minimum thresholds:

  • Tier-1 strategic suppliers: Silver or higher.
  • Long-tail suppliers: Bronze or any disclosure.
  • Regulated sectors (food, pharma, automotive): Gold often the bar for preferred status.

If you’re below Bronze, you may be flagged in the buyer’s risk system regardless of the formal contract status.

Subscription plans

EcoVadis charges an annual subscription, separate from any one-off assessment. Pricing is not publicly transparent — final invoices vary by company size, sector and assessment scope. Indicative starting points:

PlanIndicative cost (annual)
Basic~€1,080
Premium~€1,500
Select~€4,700
Corporate~€7,650

US market pricing typically ranges from $500 to $11,000+. Quotes can shift by 30–50% from the indicative figures depending on scope.

Reassessment cycle

EcoVadis scores are valid for 12–24 months depending on subscription. Scores expire at the end of the validity window — you have to reassess to maintain your medal in supplier portals.

Reassessment effort is significantly lower than the first cycle if you carry forward the document library and KPI structure.

What raises the cost beyond the sticker price

  • Internal effort: assembling evidence, document translations, training, project management. Typically the majority of total cost.
  • Third-party certifications that boost the score (ISO 14001, SBTi validation) — each has its own cost and timeline.
  • Reassessment: not free; baked into the subscription only at certain tiers.

Plan for the assessment as a multi-year program, not a one-time expense.
